I Love Sundays!

Yesterday church was quite exciting, I guess. I had to feed Ethan before we left to go to church. It was either feed him at home and be late, or feed him at church with Carly and Dallin running wild around the mother's lounge. So I fed him at home, and we were late, only a couple minutes, but Carly stepped in mud while walking to church. So I was out scraping her shoe with a stick and rubbing her shoe in the grass trying to get the mud off. Then we walked into the foyer and I noticed Carly was carrying a big stick with leaves on it, so I threw it out the door. We got in the chapel and sat down right before the opening song was finished. After the opening prayer Ethan let go some really loud gas (He does that quite often). Of course the other kids thought it was hillarious. In her loud voice Carly says, "Eww! Who Farted?" Dallin says, "Mom, Ethan farted!" And of course Colton has to let me know too. Well, they got a little settled down from that excitement. There was a boy that got baptized on Saturday, and he was getting confirmed. They started the prayer and Dallin started standing on the bench. "I want to see the baby," he kept saying. I explained to him that it wasn't a baby blessing, that it was a boy who had been baptized. Then I had to explain it to Carly because she had heard Dallin ask why it was a boy, so she had to ask me about the boy too. Then during the sacrament Ethan had the hiccups, and I guess he tried to swallow and hiccup at the same time or something, and he started gagging. He made some nice throw-up sounds that got everyone's attention, and of course made the kids excited again. Then Carly decided she needed to go potty, and told the whole congregation about it, "I need to go potty!" And Dallin needed to go too, and of course he let everyone around us know it. Carly was mad that Dallin had to go too, and she said in her loud voice, "No I need to go potty. He's going to pee on my pee-pee!" We tried to hurry out so people wouldn't have to listen to their fight about who got to go potty first. We got their potty break taken care of and went back in to the meeting. They were ok for a couple minutes, but it didn't last long. Carly and Dallin started being noisy, and Carly had to go potty again. Usually I would tell Carly she could wait, she just went five minutes ago, but I had about had it with Carly and Dallin. So I said, "Ok, lets go," and I tried to take Dallin, but he didn't want to go so I had to struggle to get him out, and in that struggle I tripped over the car seat and tripped over Carly, and I lost my shoe. I bent over and grabbed my shoe, Dallin, and Carly and walked out of the chapel with one shoe on and the other in my hand. We stayed out the rest of the meeting. I won't even tell you about our fun time out in the hallway!

Sorry Amy, but I must confess that I laughed while reading this whole thing! I can just picture the whole scene playing out.

That's funny! I think my favorite part is you storming out with your shoe in your hand! I don't know how you do it with 4 kids by yourself at church!
