Another bike story

Last week Dave's bike was stolen out of our back yard. It was Sunday Evening when he noticed. Earlier in the day he had noticed a bike in someone's garage, a couple houses away, that looked a lot like his. He didn't think much about it though until he noticed his bike was missing. Then he went over to the house, and sure enough, it was his bike. So he knocked on the door and asked why they had his bike in their garage. The man told him that on friday night an older boy had riden the bike up to their house and told his wife that he wanted to trade bikes with their grandson. The wife told him she needed to talk to her husband, and went inside to get him. When they came back outside, the boy had ran away, but he had left the bike there. They put it in the garage and left the door open, hoping that whoever's bike it was would see it there.
Dave was a little disappointed that he didn't get to catch the boy that had stolen his bike (he was hoping to beat him up a little, like he did at ASU to a bike thief he caught in the middle of stealing a bike, and he recieved a certificate of appreciation from the police department for it.)

So, once again, we got back a bike that was stolen from us! I don't know why it happened twice in the same week- it is kind of strange! But we are happy that both times we got them back.

It is sad when you have to start locking your bike up in your own backyard. I don't think I will ever understand how people can feel okay about stealing things that don't belong to them.

I would keep a closer eye on your bikes from now on! There not even safe in your own yard!
