A Cool Story

This week we decided to ride our bikes to school. So we rode them and then left Colton's bike at the bike rack. When I rode my bike back after school to get Colton, his bike was gone. Someone had stolen it. No, we didn't lock it up, hardly anyone locks up their bikes here, and it is a small, old bike, I didn't think anyone would take it. We walked home, and Colton was really sad. The next morning I talked to the principal, and told her what had happened. There were only 5 other bikes at the bike rack, so she called in the rider's of those bikes and asked them if they knew who took it. They told her they saw someone riding away on it, but they didn't know who it was. (I am sure it was probably one of their friends that took it!) A couple hours later the principal called me and said she had found Colton's bike. She was coming back to the elementary school after a meeting, she was riding her bike. She decided to go a different way that day then she normally goes because there was more traffic than usual. So as she was riding along there in front of her, in the middle of the street, was a blue bike, just a couple blocks from the school. She brought it back to the school and asked Colton if it was his bike, and it was. Colton and Dave and I were pretty happy to have it back!
The night after it was stolen and that morning Colton had said prayers that he would get his bike back, and I know that those prayers helped him get it back.
We did learn that even if no one else is locking their bikes up, we will be locking ours up!
